As an architectural student I am interested in looking at vernacular architecture and construction methods of the past, in particular how these can be used to inform modern design to create a more sustainable future.
With a back to basics approach towards family living in the year 2050, the Interconnected Homestead provides an intergenerational home that aims to foster connections between the generations. The project takes inspiration from the vernacular and architecture from the past.
P2 Narrative – A Back to Basics approach to family living
My P3 project reimagines consumerism in the year 2050, providing a shopping centre located in the heart of Sheffield based around trading and borrowing rather than buying and selling. The project uses the concept of nostalgia to create community and comfort, bringing life back into declining shopping centres.
